Chand Ki Tarikh Today Lucknow
Lucknow is the one big Indian city where "aaj chand ki kitni tarikh hai" sometimes has two answers. The city runs separate Sunni and Shia chand committees, and around Ramadan, Shawwal and Muharram their announcements can differ by a day. The live card above follows the majority Indian calendar; for Eid, confirm with the committee your own masjid follows.

Lucknow Mein Chand Ka Elaan
Sunni Lucknow follows the Markazi Chand Committee at Farangi Mahal, the centuries-old house of Islamic scholarship in the old city, headed by Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali. The committee meets on the 29th evening, verifies shahadat, and its word settles the date for most Sunni masjids in the city and for many towns across Awadh.
Shia Lucknow, home to one of India's largest Shia communities, has its own Chand Committee, and its decisions reach people through the city's imambara network. The Asafi Masjid at Bara Imambara is where that calendar becomes visible: Muharram and Eid dates declared for the Shia community can land a day apart from the Sunni announcement, and in some years Lucknow has genuinely marked two Eids. Locals treat this as routine; anyone tracking Lucknow chand updates just needs to know which committee their family follows.
