Aaj Dhu al-Hijjah Ki Kitni Tarikh Hai?
Aaj 4 Safar 1448 AH hai. Dhu al-Hijjah 1448 AH: 8 May 2027 – 5 June 2027
Abhi Dhu al-Hijjah nahi chal raha — aaj Safar 1448 chal raha hai. Dhu al-Hijjah agli baar 8 May 2027 se 5 June 2027 tak (1448 AH) aayega, India ke chand ke mutabiq.
Dhu al-Hijjah (ज़िल हिज्जा), often written as Zilhajj, is the twelfth and final month of the Islamic Hijri calendar. Its name literally means "the month of the pilgrimage," because this is when Hajj takes place in Makkah. It is also one of the four sacred months in which fighting is forbidden and good deeds carry extra weight. Because the Hijri year is lunar, the month arrives about eleven days earlier each Gregorian year, which is why people search "aaj Dhu al-Hijjah ki kitni tarikh hai" to fix the exact day.
Dhu al-Hijjah ki ahmiyat — significance
No other month packs so many landmark days into so short a span. The first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah are described in hadith as the most beloved days for righteous deeds in the entire year, which is why many Muslims increase their fasting, dhikr, and charity through this window.
The 9th is the Day of Arafah, the spiritual peak of Hajj, when pilgrims gather on the plain of Arafat. For those not on Hajj, fasting on Arafah is highly recommended and is said to wipe out the sins of the previous and coming year. The very next day, the 10th, is Eid al-Adha, known in India as Bakra Eid, marked by the Eid prayer and the Qurbani (sacrifice) that recalls Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son.
Hajj itself unfolds across the 8th to the 13th, with the days of Tashreeq (11th, 12th and 13th) following Eid. During these days takbir is recited aloud and Qurbani continues. Between Arafah, Eid, and the sacred-month status, Dhu al-Hijjah stands apart from every other month on the calendar.
Dhu al-Hijjah mein kya karte hain
In India, the run-up to the 10th is busy. Families arrange goats and other animals for Qurbani, many fast on the 9th (Arafah), and the first nine days see a rise in extra prayers, Quran recitation, and charity. Mosques fill for the Eid al-Adha prayer on the morning of the 10th, after which the sacrifice is carried out and meat is shared with family, neighbours, and the poor.
The takbir of Tashreeq is recited after obligatory prayers from the Fajr of Arafah through the days that follow Eid. Those unable to fast the full ten days often focus on Arafah alone, since knowing the correct date matters so much here, checking "aaj Dhu al-Hijjah ki tarikh kya hai" against the local moon sighting is a common step before planning the fast and the Qurbani.
