Sewaiyan and other sweets are shared with neighbours of every faith, which is why the day is often called Meethi Eid.
Through the rest of the month, many Indian Muslims keep the six Shawwal fasts, sometimes starting from the 2nd once Eid is over. There are no fixed sacred nights in Shawwal, so the focus stays on these optional fasts, regular duas, and holding on to the good routine of Ramadan.
